Celtic are locked in talks with Paris Saint Germain over a deal for Odsonne Edouard.

The striker arrived on loan at the end of August and has made an important contribution to the title success with 11 goals in 29 matches.

Three goals in two matches against Sevco plus a hat-trick against Motherwell have showcased his talent with the search for strikers notoriously difficult.

A permanent deal would be ideal but from Brendan Rodgers’ observations, taking Edouard for a second season on loan could be an option.

Edouard appeared to pick up a hamstring injury in the 3-1 win over Hearts with the Celtic boss hoping that he hasn’t seen the last of the young striker.

We hoped it was maybe cramp, but it’s looking worse than that, so it’s highly unlikely he’ll feature again,” Rodgers explained to The Sun.

His contract is pretty clear. Peter has met PSG and talks are ongoing, so I’m hoping we can come to an agreement.

I know the boy is happy and PSG have enjoyed watching him develop here. It would be great if we could get this one done.

He’s still here for his treatment. He enjoys being here and you never know, he might make a miraculous recovery for the final.”

Leigh Griffiths is expected to be available to face Aberdeen on Sunday after being ruled out through injury.

With Moussa Dembele currently his only fit striker Rodgers may decide to rest the former Fulham striker from tonight’s match.
