Dave King has dismissed an ‘investment’ in Sevco from Dave Murray.

For 23 years the Edinburgh based businessman brought glory to Rangers (IL) as he ran up an incredible overdraft with Bank of Scotland then employed the EBT scheme which was ruled to be disguised remuneration.

Most Rangers fans still revere Mr Murray with the prospect of a Blue Room return something to savour with the prospect of a return to the good old trophy cheating days.

Over the weekend there was speculation that he was among a raft of new investors wanting to support King with the Steven Gerrard revolution.

The Scotsman reported:

Rumours have continued to circulate of a possible return to Rangers as an investor of former chairman and owner Sir David Murray but that was nipped curtly in the bud by King.

Zero per cent chance of that happening would be a bit on the high side,” he said. “It’s more than unlikely.”

King told an invited group of reporters that a share issue not involving himself or any member of his concert party would raise £6m for the company.

With the Takeover Appeal Panel watching his every move there is no prospect of a share issue going ahead and even less chance of finding ‘investors’ ready to put in £6m to a company that has never posted a profit with King.
