Neil McCann can’t get over the loss of Scott Bain.

The bitter Dundee boss tried to throw his weight around in October after a 3-1 home defeat from Hamilton Accies.

Bain was the main culprit in McCann’s eyes but rather than accept the ‘wee guy syndrome’ of his fiery boss the goalkeeper called in PFA Scotland to challenge a two week fine.

The former Sky Sports pundit then made Bain’s life a misery as he trained with the Development League squad before sitting on the bench watching their matches.

Hibs took the out of favour keeper on loan to Easter Road in January before a transfer deadline day shuffle saw Bain move to Celtic while Scott Allan joined Hibs with Dundee getting Simon Murray.

Yesterday Dundee completed their season in the bottom six with a home defeat from Partick Thistle. As McCann sits down at lunchtime today to watch Sevco play Hibs in the battle for second place Bain will be collecting a medal as Celtic celebrate their seventh successive title.

I’m not interested in Scott Bain,” McCann told The Scotsman before going on to discuss his former keeper. “I’m interested in my team today. Scott Bain turns round and says we got what we deserved?

The mates that supported him, is that the same mates that he’s happy had a mediocre season but listen, I’m more concerned with my team.”

Bain’s team-mates know both sides of the story and who has emerged the smarter of the two men.
