No UEFA approval for Sevco

Curiously, the day after social media reported on UEFA rejecting Sevco’s SFA backed licence application a spreadsheet has appeared claiming that everything is hunky dory at Ibrox.

There has never been much doubt that the Ibrox club would have their application approved by the same organisation that rubber stamped an application from the old club in 2011.

The story from some of the best placed sources on social media wasn’t SFA approval it was UEFA rejection.

In his bizarre interview to selected reporters on Monday King went into some detail about the personal guarantees about the tribute act surviving through next season.

On this occasion there is reason to believe that there was a grain of truth in what the South African based criminal had to say.

UEFA have recently demonstrated that they aren’t afraid to punish clubs as Sion and Panathinaikos have discovered with bans from European competition.

While it is largely about self certification from the host association Deloitte do carry out audits.

There can be little doubt that Sevco are being watched closely by UEFA, if the SFA aren’t applying the regulations without fear or favour there could be a very nasty new surprise about to fall into the remit of in-coming chief executive Ian Maxwell.
