A dramatic late goal from Marcos Rojo should have grabbed all of the headlines but the antics of Diego Maradona competed with the strike that kept Argentina’s World Cup hopes alive.
While most of the folk in the posh seats wear suits and barely show any emotion- other than George Peat- the hero of Argentina’s 1986 World Cup win takes a different approach.
Dressed in t-shirt, jeans and trainers the chunky figure of Maradona is impossible to miss with the television cameras firmly on the VIP area whenever Argentina play.

Argentina are a neutral fans dream. The genius of Messi, the calamitous manager, the defenders playing like cunts that play on a Sunday after a 16 hour Saturday session, the passion of the fans, Maradona stoating about like a hobo, the iconic jersey. Argentina have everything.

It looked like curtains for Messi and Co until Rojo struck a brilliant 85th minute shot into the Nigeria net with Maradona’s emotions spilling over in celebration.
Leaning forward with the middle fingers raised the former Barcelona and Napoli star let the fans in the section in front of him know all about his joy as the television cameras quickly moved away from the scene.
Anyone passionate about the game knows exactly how the bold Diego Armando Maradona felt!
