The levels of investigation of some Celtic supporters is legendary as Craig Whyte, Charles Green and others have discovered in recent times.

The flimsiest of evidence can prompt searches into the darkest corners of Google to unearth information that is generally spot on.

Last Monday when the Celtic squad returned for pre-season training a few unknown faces were picked up in the pictures from the training sessions.

Celtic TV presenter Gerry McCulloch confirmed that there were three trialists at the club but no credible names have emerged.

Last night Tommy McIntyre’s Development squad were in action for the first time this season in a friendly against East Kilbride.

Three trialists were listed on the team sheet but no credible names emerged on twitter with nothing emerging about backgrounds or nationality.

The trialists did OK without pulling up any trees, any future deals are more likely to be with the Development/Reserve side in mind.

On the park Celtic lost 2-1 to the Lowland League side with half time substitute Daniel Church pulling a goal back on the hour mark.

Tellingly the agents of the trialists haven’t been rushing to the media to  discuss the prospects of their clients getting a contract which is the way that Celtic insist on doing business.
