Steven Gerrard has told Dave King that he won’t become obsessed by Celtic!

The South African based criminal has kept the gullible on track over the last three years with scare stories warning about 10-in-a-row across the city.

Mark Warburton was a victim of #goingfor55 with his successor, Pedro Caixinha dumped as the gap with the hoops lengthened long before Christmas.

Graeme Murty was crushed by a 5-0 defeat at Celtic Park forcing King to turn to Anfield to ensure that season tickets were shifted.

Sevco fans are expecting Gerrard to stop Celtic from reaching their eighth successive title with no room for negotiation after another close season of groundless euphoria.

Gerrard will visit the home of the champions of match-day four but insists that he has other targets to hit other than stopping the hoops.

“I think for me it is important not to be obsessed with Celtic,” the Evening Times reports the Ibrox boss saying in a promotion for Budweiser. “I have to sort Rangers out.

“There are things we need to improve on and my focus is on Rangers.

“Brendan (Rodgers, Celtic manager and his former boss at Liverpool) sent me a message just after the announcement and we exchanged a few messages.

“I think it is very disrespectful just to focus on one team in the league, especially when you finish third (behind Aberdeen) and Hibernian were breathing down your neck as well.”

Sevco’s first SPFL fixture is away to Aberdeen. After that season ticket holders will get their first taste of the Revolution at home to St Mirren on August 11 before difficult away matches against Motherwell and Celtic.

On Tuesday Sevco will discover the identity of their first round opponents in the Europa League.
