Celtic will face Sevco on September 1 or 2 in the fourth fixture of the season.

The fixtures will be published at 9am this morning but according to a report in The Times Steven Gerrard will be making an early visit to face the champions.

Clubs and media outlets are given the fixtures in advance but there is a 9am embargo on the fixtures to ensure maximum publicity. The game is scheduled for September 1 but could be put back 24 hours for television coverage.

Earlier this week The Times were given first news that Tony McGlennan had resigned as Compliance Officer of the SFA.

With the transfer window closing on August 31 both clubs will be at full strength with no excuses available.

The fixture also falls immediately after the play-off stage for the Champions League and Europa League.

Celtic are unbeaten in eight Premiership matches against the tribute act but have a better record at Ibrox.

In the last clash between the two clubs Celtic clinched the title with a resounding 5-0 win that saw Graeme Murty removed as caretaker manager two days later.
