Cocky Sevco have fuelled their phoney war with the BBC following the appointment of Steven Gerrard.

Three years ago, at the start of the Warburton Revolution, the two parties fell out when Chris McLaughlin reported on sectarian (anti-Catholic) singing during a match with Hibs at Easter Road.

When Sevco denied McLaughlin media access the BBC refused to back down. Rather than be told who could report on matters from Ibrox the state broadcaster have held firm with the BBC using agency copy to cover the Warburton and Caixinha Revolutions plus Murty Mania.

With Steven Gerrard of interest to London there is bound to be some interesting discussions between two strains of the broadcaster.

Whether London will stand by Glasgow based McLaughlin remains to be seen or whether the need to provide an English audience with news of a former international captain takes priority over solidarity.

Although there is technically a dispute between the club and the broadcaster output has changed little with Barry Ferguson, Kris Boyd, Alex Rae, Steven Thompson, Billy Dodds and Derek Ferguson regularly giving upbeat forecasts for the gullible to take comfort in.
