Tony Watt is hoping to get fixed up with a new club by the end of the week.

The former Celtic striker cut short his contract with Belgian side OH Leuven in January and spent some time training with Aberdeen.

Watt burst onto the football scene in April 2012 with a scoring double as a substitute against Motherwell on his Celtic debut.

Seven months later he scored what proved to be the winning goal against Barcelona in the Champions League but despite his promise he never started a match as a striker with Neil Lennon sticking with Gary Hooper, Anthony Stokes and Georgios Samaras.

Stints in Belgium and England followed with goals scored in the Championship for Charlton, Cardiff and Blackburn during the 2015/16 season.

A number of clubs are keen to sign the 24-year-old but it’s believed that the prospect of regular first team football is his priority after the stop-start nature of his career to date.
