Bruno Alves is holding out for his pay-off before quitting Ibrox.
The veteran defender has been in talks with Parma about a return to Serie A but still has a year to run on his lucrative Ibrox deal.
Steven Gerrard has made it clear that Alves has no part to play in his Revolution but the former Cagliari star won’t be walking away from his £28,000/week contract.
Parma’s pre-season plans have been plunged into chaos by a match fixing scandal with the newly promoted club unable to get close to Alves’ current terms.
“There is nothing definite yet with me signing for Parma,” he told Portuguese website Record.
“I have a year left of my contract with Glasgow Rangers and I have yet to decide what is the best option for my career.
“Perhaps it will be good for me to return to Italy. I like it because it is a good standard of league but we will see what happens.”
Steven Gerrard has already admitted that he needs to move players on before fresh faces can be brought in.
Connor Golston, Jon Flanagan and Nikola Katic have signed up for the Revolution but Director of Football Mark Allen has struggled to move players on.
Micky O’Halloran has moved to Melbourne City but Jason Holt and Joe Dodoo have only gone on loan for a season, returning to Ibrox in May for the final year of their contracts.
