Wes Foderingham is the latest victim of Steven Gerrard’s attempted Ibrox clear out.

Talks to shift Bruno Alves and Alfredo Morelos are already well underway with The Sun claiming that Foderingham has been told that he’ll be third choice behind Allan McGregor and Jak Alnwick in the season ahead.

Mark Warburton signed the shot stopper from Swindon in 2015 but after initially being tipped for England honours as Sevco romped to Championship glory his form dipped against full time opponents.

Foderingham was in goals for both of the 5-1 defeats from Celtic in the 2016/17 season with his last top team match coming at Hampden in April when the hoops won 4-0 in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.

With a contract that runs until June 2020 Foderingham will be in no rush to leave Ibrox unless the terms of a move are favourable.

McGregor will be Sevco’s first choice keeper in the new season after signing a two year contract soon after Gerrard took over from Graeme Murty.
