Fulham have been linked with a move for Dedryck Boyata.
According to a report in The Sun the Premier League newcomers want to sign the defender who has a year left on his Celtic contract.
Brendan Rodgers is still hoping to get Boyata to sign up to a new contract but will be presented with a dilemma if a realistic offer is put on the table.
In 2016 Celtic sold Stefan Johansen to Fulham in similar circumstances.
The Celtic boss would have to decide whether to retain the defender for Champions League qualifiers or to accept a bid that would restrict his defensive options for the most important matches of the season.
The English Premier League have imposed an August 9 transfer deadline on their clubs which is the day before the league season starts- and in the middle of the qualifying matches for the Europa League and Champions League.
With Belgium still involved in the World Cup it’s unlikely that Boyata will be available to Celtic this month.
