John Robertson has been joking at Brendan Rodgers’ interest in improving the standards of Scottish football.
Despite winning 3-1 at Tynecastle in May the Celtic boss was highly critical before the match of the length of the grass going as far as saying that he had to change his tactics away from a passing game.
Robertson joined the team at BT Sport before his side’s Betfred Cup tie at Tynecastle.
“You’ve got a choice of four cuts: very short, short, medium or Celtic!”
“I don’t know why Brendan has a problem with it?!”

Perhaps if the Inverness boss had spent more time preparing his team rather than pallying up to Craig Levein his side might have fared better.
Even a 3-0 defeat would have taken the highland side into the last 16 of the Betfred Cup but a 5-0 defeat sent them northwards to concentrate on their Championship campaign.
That defeat allowed Partick Thistle to pip Robertson’s team for one of the best runners up spots in the tournament.
As Robertson was taking the bus back to Inverness Partick were paired with Celtic in the next round of the cup gaining the benefits of a bumper crowd and likely television coverage.
Rodgers will get to discover the quality of the new pitch at Tynecastle on August 11 when the champions visit the capital.
