Jozo Simunovic will be suspended for Celtic’s second leg tie against Rosenborg on Wednesday.

At a Disciplinary Hearing today it was decided that the defender should have an additional match added to the automatic suspension imposed for his red card against Alashkert.

Decision: The CEDB has decided to suspend the Celtic player Simunovic Jozo for two (2) UEFA competition matches. The player has already served one match and will therefore be suspended for the next match for which he would be otherwise eligible.

With Jack Hendry and Kris Ajer performing well in the first leg the additional suspension won’t effect Brendan Rodgers’ plans for the match but does leave Celtic short of back up.

Anthony Ralston was the only defender listed as a substitute for the first leg win over Rosenborg although Mikael Lustig may come into contention for the match in Norway.

Dedryck Boyata will return to training at Lennoxtown on Monday but isn’t likely to be out of contention for a further fortnight.

If Celtic are successful against Rosenborg they will play AEK Athens in the third qualifying round, if they lose out they will drop out into a Europa League third round qualifier against Cork City.
