Celtic fans were delighted by confirmation that Sevco will only get 800 tickets for the September 2 derby.
In June in a typical appeal to the base instincts of the Sevco support Dave King announced that due to demand for season tickets they would be giving every SPFL club an allocation of 800 tickets covering the corner of the stadium between the Govan and Broomloan Road stands.
That decision followed a desperate on line petition by Sevco fans angered at witnessing 7,000 Celtic fans enjoying four successive wins at Ibrox.
Celtic issued a brief response at the time but recently on social media there has been a suggestion that the hoops would hand Sevco 7,000 derby tickets in the hope that they would receive the same allocation for Ibrox.

Today’s statement nailed that notion stone dead with Brendan Rodgers’ side certain to be backed by 58,000 fans on September 2 when they meet the latest Revolution from Ibrox.
Next month King will continue to tell Sports Direct and the Takeover Panel how to run their business.
