Sevco have had an offer of £200,000 for Kyle Lafferty rejected by Hearts.

According to STV, who enjoyed an exclusive interview with Dave King last week, the Irishman is seen as the latest piece of Steven Gerrard’s Revolution.

Lafferty walked away from the old Rangers (IL) club in 2012, moving on to play for Sion, Palermo and Norwich before returning to Scottish football last year.

Soon after joining Hearts he went public about the gambling problems that have dogged him throughout his career.

Hearts stood by the player and were rewarded with 12 SPFL goals last season.

Lafferty is under contract with Hearts until June 2019 but is almost certain to be angling for a transfer now that interest from Ibrox has gone public.

Earlier this summer Jermaine Defoe and Fernando Torres were linked with a role in the Revolution but it seems that reality has set in although it’s unlikely that Lafferty is in Steven Gerrard’s famous contact book.
