Sevco has begun the task of softening up supporters for their new deal with Sports Direct.

Yesterday it was announced that an out of court settlement had been reached after Mike Ashley’s firm had been granted an injunction to halt a retail and merchandising deal with a third party.

When Dave King swept to power in March 2015 ripping up the commercial deals set up between the club formed in 2012 by Charles Green and Mike Ashley was a priority.

Favoured fans groups were given widespread publicity to slaughter Ashley before a court order prevented any more details being leaked after it emerged that the club was earning seven pence in the pound in a deal that carried a seven year notice period.

Last June King’s stock climbed to new heights when he announced that the Sports Direct deal had been ripped up as the gullible raced out to buy up the previous season’s stock.

Five months later it emerged that Sevco had paid £3m to rip up the contract with news surfacing in July 2018 that Sports Direct were entitled to match any future deal the club made with a third party.

After announcing Hummel as their new kit supplier the new strips were eagerly awaited but with the school summer holidays almost over only Turkish market traders have been able to cash in on the blue euro.

Yesterday it emerged that Sevco were paying £500,000 plus VAT on legal fees to set up a new deal with Sports Direct which was met with despair by supporters.

Some fans have started to question the calibre of the men that negotiated the new contract but Follow Follow has moved quickly to reassure the gullible that Mr King is a true blue who again out foxed big bad Mike Cashley in court.

Yesterday’s court reporting came from the Press Association and was carried across the board from the BBC to The Sun and most points in-between.

Incredibly Follow Follow have been able to pick up on some crumbs of comfort which basically suggests that the Press Association have gone out of their way to paint Sevco as the courtroom losers.

It can only be assumed that Follow Follow were fed the details from a trusted source very close to the action.

According to this report the result at the High Court on Monday was actually a score draw with all still to be played for as negotiations continue.

Apparently the Judge was highly critical of every move that Sports Direct made despite ordering Sevco to pay their opponents costs!

The aftermath of this will be spectacular.

JD Sports have been widely reported as being the third party that Sevco had lined up to replace Sports Direct.

Having had their contract shared then cancelled it’s highly likely that legal action will follow for breaking the deal but more expensively for sharing confidential details with a rival.

The flow charts and diagrams promised to Hummel are certain to have been included in the contract with the Danish firm.

Billy won’t be showing off many iconic chevrons on the beach this summer, Santa may not have access to orange tops in time for Christmas.

While Follow Follow attempt to spin a humiliating defeat more bad news lies ahead through JD Sport and Hummel.

Perhaps the club can explain to the gullible what happened with King’s £6m share issue from June?
