It’s a question that Celtic fans have been asking since 1998 when the Jock Stein Stand was opened.

What would the stadium look if the South Stand was raised to the same height as the rest of the ground?

One twitter account has decided to tackle that question with spectacular results that have been well received by Celtic supporters.

The Celtic board are aware of the idea but even the most enthusiastic supporter would conceded that an 80,000 capacity stadium isn’t economically viable.

Certainly for Champions League matches the hoops could sell out 80,000 tickets but the current capacity seems to produce the desired number of season ticket sales, nudging just over 50,000, while retaining a decent number of seats available on a match to match basis.

With the current capacity supporters know that a season-ticket is essential to ensure entry to all matches, if they capacity was raised to 80,000 it would be easier to pick and choose matches.
