Daniel Arzani is expected to watch Celtic in action tonight against AEK Athens then sign a two year loan deal in the morning, ESPN reports.

Manchester City are close to completing the winger’s transfer from Melbourne City with the paperwork in hand to send him on loan to Celtic.

Arzani appeared as a substitute for the Socceroos in all three of their group matches at the World Cup Finals and is rated as the best young talent to emerge from Australia since Harry Kewall.

The 19-year-old has played mainly on the right wing as a left footer but will have his work cut out to displace James Forrest from the Celtic side.

Forrest is in the final year of his Celtic contract but has gone on record as stating that he wants to stay on at his only senior club.

Arzani would be eligible to appear in the play-off round of UEFA competitions but is likely to require a month of pre-season training before being in contention for a first team place.
