John Hartson is already looking forward to Celtic’s clash with AEK Athens.

The former hoops striker watched last night’s 0-0 draw with Rosenborg from afar as Brendan Rodgers side booked their place in the third round draw.

There were a few shaky moments during the first half but after the break Celtic increased their possession to kill off any prospects of a Rosenborg comeback.

Jack Hendry and Kris Ajer dealt with the aerial threat while the midfielders kept the ball rolling around towards the Rosenborg goal.

After a brief break for the opening of the SPFL season at home to Livingston on Saturday all thoughts will turn to the visit of AEK Athens.

Greece is rated as the 11th best league in Europe but with their own campaign not starting until August 25 Celtic will kick off against AEK with five competitive games under their belt.
