Allan McGregor will escape any punishment for his attack on Motherwell’s Peter Hartley.

Late on in Sunday’s match, with Sevco leading 3-2, the veteran goalkeeper launched himself at the Motherwell skipper as he lay on the ground.

While television coverage tried to gloss over the incident social media took the incident apart to expose the actions of McGregor.

The SFA has the power to issue retrospective justice but after a couple of media enquiries it was made clear that no action will be taken.

McGregor has been praised as Steven Gerrard’s best signing but with the Sevco defence opened up at will by Motherwell the former Hull City keeper was left exposed at Fir Park.

For the first goal he was left stranded by Connor Goldston’s slip, Carl McHugh was able to float a free header into the net for Motherwell’s second while McGregor stayed rooted to his line for the third Motherwell goal scored by Hartley from a corner.
