Claude Puel has opened the door to Filip Benkovic joining Celtic on loan.
The Croatian defender moved to Leicester City during the summer in a £13m deal but has only played in the League Cup with the foxes getting off to an impressive start in the EPL
Celtic have been linked with Benkovic a couple of times while he was at Dinamo Zagreb but couldn’t compete with the fee that Leicester came up with.
Puel on Benkovic being linked with Celtic: “What I can say about Filip is, we will see if he has a possibility to go out on loan. But, I’m happy to have this player because he’s talented. We want to continue to develop him, but we have a lot of centre backs”

Brendan Rodgers’ side have been beset with problems in central defence since the turn of the year with that area a transfer priority.
Celtic haven’t added any new faces to the squad that clinched last season’s treble although it appears that former Kilmarnock midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu is close to signing.
The former West Brom midfielder made a big impression last season after joining Killie in November and is expected to sign a two year deal as a free agent.
