Sky Sports have linked Filip Benkovic with a loan move to Celtic.
Leicester boss Claude Puel will host a media conference later today to preview Saturday’s visit from Liverpool and will be asked about the Croatian defender.
Celtic have been linked with Benkovic on a number of occasions over the last few years after signing Jozo Simunovic from Dinamo Zagreb in 2015.
The hoops were unable to get close to the £13m fee that Leicester paid for the 21-year-old during the summer but with Harry Maguire staying put playing time could be limited for Benkovic although he started in the League Cup win over Fleetwood on Tuesday.
Celtic have been haunted by defensive problems since the start of the season with a big question mark over the future of Dedryck Boyata.
Benkovic would certainly provide a short term solution to that problem position and could even be in line to make his debut against Sevco on Sunday.
