The savage nature of Steven Naismith was exposed again today during the Hearts v Celtic match.

In May the former Scotland star was allowed to kick out at Scott Brown and James Forrest without punishment from referee Bobby Madden.

Afterwards the SFA Compliance Officer handed out a two match ban which was served in a meaningless end of season match at Kilmarnock and a Betfred Cup tie against Cove Rangers.

Today Jonny Hayes was Naismith’s victim, cowardly kicking out twice at the Celtic winger as he lay on the ground injured. Showing his true colours he then hovered above the Celtic player shouting.

Hearts will find out early next week whether Naismith will be punished further by the SFA, in the second half he was booked for aiming another kick at Jozo Simunovic.

Goalscorer Kyle Lafferty was only shown a yellow card for an early over the ball attack on Mikael Lustig’s ankle.
