Sevco have started a desperate fire sale to pay for the Gerrard Revolution.

Talks are underway to get James Tavernier, Josh Windass and Jak Alnwick off the pay-roll.

Despite his wealth of contacts Director of Football Mark Allen has still to bring in a penny from the summer transfer window with cash flowing down the marble stairway to pay off Bruno Alves, Harry Forrester, Micky O’Halloran and Fabio Cardosa.

Brighton are believed to be interested in Tavernier which would help balance the books for the arrival of Connor Goldston.

In February Tav, recently appointed as captain by Gerrard, signed a new contract keeping him at Ibrox until 2021, stating that he expected to play in the Champions League.

Despite claims of a £3m buy-out clause and interest from four EPL teams Ipswich have put in an offer of £1.2m for Windass.

The former Accrington starlet has infuriated the Ibrox support with his apparent lack of effort on the pitch while he enjoys the lifestyle of a C-grade celebrity on social media.

Bristol City are keen to take Alnwick on a season long loan which would allow Gerrard to promote last season’s first choice keeper Wesley Foderingham to Allan McGregor’s deputy.
