Celtic kid Michael Sparkes has switched his international allegiance from Scotland to Wales.
The 16-year-old has played eight times for Scotland, scoring twice but hasn’t been involved since the 3-3 draw with Denmark in February.
In August under what the SFA website described as a ‘new look’ u-17 squad Scotland beat Russia twice during a training stint at Murcia, Spain with Sparkes on duty for Wales at the Telki Cup which involved the Czech Republic, Croatia and Hungry.

Players are entitled to play for any nation that they are eligible for up until they appear in a competitive match at full international level.
Celtic youngster Karamoko Dembele has played for Scotland and England at various age levels while England are keen to recruit Declan Rice and Tom Cairney who have played in friendly matches for Ireland and Scotland.
Sparkes will get to pull on the red shirt of Wales next month when they face Portugal, Belarus and Kazakhstan in the qualifying phase of the u-17 European Championships.
