Celtic coach Chris Davies has admitted that the current Premiership table isn’t looking good.

A win at Kilmarnock last Sunday would have lifted Celtic into second place but Stuart Findlay’s last gasp goal left the champions trailing in sixth position.

Hearts have a six point advantage over the hoops but with Aberdeen at Celtic Park tomorrow a win is essential to ensure that no more ground is lost.

Davies has been beside Brendan Rodgers since day one and admits that the league table doesn’t make for pleasing viewing.

It doesn’t feel nice looking at the league table and seeing Celtic in that position,” he told the Celtic website. “So that’s why we have to win games to change that and that’s our focus.

As always, it’s the next game that’s the most important, so we’ll reflect and learn from what we can improve on from the last game and then we quickly focus on the next one.

We have to start winning and playing well. Once we do that we’ll move up the league and get that positive feeling back. The Aberdeen game at home is a great opportunity to take a positive step forward in the league and climb the table back to where we belong.”

After facing Aberdeen Celtic are back at St Johnstone next Sunday followed by a home match against Hibs.

With three home wins in their Premiership fixtures so far there isn’t much wrong with Celtic’s home form although six goals from six matches is something that Davies will want to improve on.

Hearts face St Johnstone on Saturday with Livingston hosting Sevco on Sunday.
