Hearts’ 100% start to the season came to a halt today after they were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Livingston.

After starting the season with five successive wins Craig Levein’s side had the chance to go eight points ahead of Celtic before the hoops travelled to Kilmarnock.

It looked to be going to script in first half stoppage time when Hearts were awarded a penalty but Scotland hero Steven Naismith missed from his favourite distance.

With Hibs winning at Dens Park Hearts lead at the top of the SPFL is standing at five points with a win for Celtic tomorrow taking Brendan Rodgers’ side into second place, three points behind Levein’s side.

In midweek the odds on Hearts winning the title were trimmed down to 12/1 but that is likely to be adjusted after today’s dropped points.

Shortly before the transfer window closed Hearts sold last season’s top scorer, Kyle Lafferty to Sevco for £350,000.
