Radio Scotland turned to the SFA and Kilmarnock Football Club tonight to put the boot into Celtic.

Two years of frustration, or maybe it’s seven, were released by Kenny MacIntyre with undisguised glee knowing that the tribute act are a point above the seven-in-a-row champions in the SPFL table.

Celtic fans haven’t been slow to dissect the troubles of their team with the 2-1 defeat at Kilmarnock the latest but not unexpected chapter in a season of misery.

While they crawl and broadcast to order from their friends at Ibrox, despite an apparent fall out, nothing is held back by the state broadcaster as they revel in Celtic’s problems.

Showing the sort of boldness that is strangely absent when he is talking with his EBT heroes MacIntyre was desperate to get Scotland assistant manager Peter Grant to apportion blame for Celtic’s troubles.

Developing a rift between manager and chief executive was the clear objective while Kris Boyd just couldn’t wait to rattle his gums.

The veteran substitute didn’t seem to take much pleasure in the victory of his training ground colleagues but mention Celtic and he couldn’t contain his enthusiasm.

The dressing room rift was presented as fact while Olivier Ntcham hasn’t kicked a ball since the transfer window closed!

I remember one kick of the ball on September 2 that wiped the smile off Boyd’s face and while he had a strange night away to St Mirren he put in a very acceptable display at home to Rosenborg.

Celtic fans know the troubles and issues at their club but the state broadcaster really should apply some perspective.

‘Crisis club’ Celtic are a point behind the latest revolution from Ibrox and have three times as many Europa League points as the tribute act.

With HMRC looking to secure payment plans by the end of the month on the disguised remuneration enjoyed by Alex Rae, Billy Dodds, Boyd, Steven Thompson and Barry Ferguson we’ll see how enthusiastic Kenny Mac is to discuss bad news with the poster boys from the teenage days as an unpaid Ibrox cheerleader.
