Will the SFA defend Collum for his international howler?

Willie Collum has provided Steve Clarke with more evidence of his inconsistent refereeing ahead of the Kilmarnock’s manager making an appearance in front of the SFA.

Yesterday Clarke was charged over his comments about Collum following the red card issued to Gary Dicker during the 1-0 defeat from Hearts.

Virtually no-one watching the match agreed with Collum’s decision but a few days ahead of the Celtic v Sevco derby clash the SFA rejected Killie’s appeal with Dicker being suspended for two matches.

Collum seemed to be in a much more lenient mood when he took charge of the Portugal v Italy Nations League match, or perhaps he was just in awe of Pepe’s medal collection.

Late in the match he went over the ball on an opponent with Collum deciding to play an advantage despite the clear intent of Pepe to seriously injure an opponent.

Pepe clearly deserved a red card, it was a late and dangerous ‘challenge’ full of intent to injure.

If Clarke decides to take that clip along as evidence of Collum’s incompetence the answer from the SFA should be interesting.
