Brendan Rodgers took his first team squad through to Murrayfield today for a training session.

Despite playing RB Leipzig in two days time the hoops boss demonstrated how seriously he is treating the Betfred Cup by taking his players through to the home of rugby.

Celtic used Murrayfield twice in 2014 for Champions League qualifiers but took the opportunity to get used to the surface and surroundings ahead of Sunday’s clash with Hearts.

The Edinburgh side used Murrayfield for home matches in the SPFL last season and were highly critical of the original decision to play the semi-final at Hampden.

Hearts are in SPFL Premiership action tonight away to Dundee and are expected to train at Murrayfield later in the week.

Celtic are close to selling out their allocation of 30,000 tickets with the hoops set to enjoy the backing of the biggest travelling support in Scotland since Aberdeen took 40,000 fans to Celtic Park for the final of the 2014 League Cup.
