Olivier Ntcham is targeting a return to action against Hearts on Saturday.

The midfielder suffered a mild hamstring injury at Murrayfield and was replaced at half time by Ryan Christie.

Ntcham has ruled himself out of Wednesday’s SPFL clash away to Dundee but is hopeful that his lay off is brief.

I think Wednesday will be too early for me,” he told The Sun. “It’s a hamstring problem. I hope to be fit in time for next weekend.

I am quite happy with how I have begun this season and I want to come back quickly.”

With Scott Brown still out injured the return of Ntcham would be a big bonus for Saturday’s rematch with Craig Levein’s side.

While Celtic appear to have a fairly straightforward trip to Dens Park tomorrow night Hearts face a more demanding time when they host Hibs at Easter Road.

Steven Naismith is unlikely to feature due to a sore knee while Steven MacLean could be the subject of a two match retrospective ban.

Brendan Rodgers has a number of injuries to check out ahead of the trip to Dundee but with 13 goals from their last three domestic matches it looks like the champions are getting closer to top form.
