John Beaton will referee Celtic’s top of the table clash against Hearts, assisted by extreme right wing Tory MP Douglas Ross.

The same combination were on duty at Hampden on Sunday for Aberdeen’s 1-0 Betfred Cup semi-final win over Sevco, on Saturday they will be joined by Dougie Potter on the line.

Beaton turned in a shocking performance earlier in the season at Tynecastle as Hearts beat Celtic 1-0.

Steven Naismith, who will be missing on Saturday due to injury, was allowed to get away with a catalogue of attacks on Celtic players before belatedly being shown a yellow card.

In one incident the Scotland striker twice kicked out at a grounded Jonny Hayes then bent over to roar abuse in the face of the injured Celt.

Beaton has had one other Celtic match this season, sending off Dedryck Boyata in the 1-0 Betfred Cup victory over St Johnstone at the end of September.
