Alex McLeish has drafted in Jack Hendry, Craig Gordon and James Forrest to the Scotland side to face Portugal.

All three were on the bench for Thursday’s defeat from Israel that piled pressure on the Scotland boss.

Gordon replaces Allan McGregor in goals, as he did for the 4-0 defeat from Belgium while Hendry teams up with Scott McKenna in the centre of a four man defence,

Forrest, a late substitute in Israel plays in front of former Celtic youth team-mate Stephen O’Donnell while Callum McGregor is reunited with Stuart Armstrong in midfield.

McLeish has been under attack from all sides since losing to Israel with every aspect of the performance and his media reactions being heavily criticised.

While Scotland face Portugal in a friendly later today Israel take on Albania in the Nations League with the victors in that clash being installed as favourites to top the group.

SCOTLAND: Gordon; O’Donnell, Hendry, McKenna, Robertson; Forrest, McGinn, Armstrong, McGregor; Naismith, McBurnie
