Jim White put on a brave face as Paul Merson told him that Celtic Park and Anfield were the best stadiums in Britain on Champions League nights.
The former Arsenal midfielder made the comment as Sky Sports previewed tonight’s match between Liverpool and Red Star Belgrade.

Merson repeated the line forcing anchor man White to comment.
Rather than enjoy the praise for his home city he talked about how people in the east end of Glasgow would be pleased to hear Merson’s praise.
White goes to great lengths to hide his footballing allegiances, especially on TalkSPORT where presenters are encouraged to discuss their club and how they are doing.
During his time with STV White’s fawning interviews with Brian Laudrup and Graeme Souness showed up exactly where his feelings lay.
On one occasion he was pictured with Mark Walters wearing the uniform of an orange band while his face when Celtic stopped the ten in 1998 was brilliantly captured by the Daily Record.
