Brendan Rodgers has sent a touching letter to a Celtic supporter who has been diagnosed with cancer.

The Celtic boss knows more than most about the illness having lost both of his parents while they were in their fifties due to the illness.

Last year as he released a book ‘The Road to Paradise’ Rodgers ensured that cancer charities benefited from the profits with the Northern Ireland Hospice regularly supported by the Celtic boss.

On Christmas Day 2016 the Celtic boss spent his morning visiting the NIH.

Rodgers is a private man but after Celtic’s 5-1 Glasgow derby win on 10 September 2017 he was asked about the significance of the date which was the 32nd anniversary of Jock Stein’s death at Cardiff.

The Celtic boss got quite emotional when he explained that it was also the anniversary of his own father’s death in 2011.
