Former Celtic youth team midfielder Michael Tidler sparked some incredible scenes at Cappielow on Saturday.

As a long range shot from Tidser hit the back of the Thistle net a floodlight about the dug-out area smashed showering glass onto the pitch below.

Amazing Morton players moved over to the touchline to pick up the broken glass with their bare hands after indulging in some lively goal celebrations.

Tidser was captain of the Celtic youth side but was released in 2009 alongside the majority of that squad.

After a brief spell in Sweden he returned to Morton where he made over 100 appearances before earning a £50,000 transfer to Rotherham in 2013.

That move failed to work out, after loan spells at Ross County and Oldham he returned to Cappielow in 2015 for his second spell at Morton.

Despite taking the lead through Brice Ntwambae in the 16th minute the home side hit back with five goals to complete a miserable week for Gary Caldwell with Thistle losing all three of the matches that he has been in charge for.
