Celtic will be without a number of first team players for Thursday’s Europa League tie against RB Leipzig.
Eboue Koassi and Daniel Arzani have joined the long term injury list, Cristian Gamboa and Jozo Simunovic were injured away to Leipzig with Scott Brown, Leigh Griffiths and Olivier Ntcham among the other walking wounded.
Asked yesterday whether he will have anyone return to the squad for Thursday Rodgers told Radio Scotland: “Probably not, Youssouf Mulumbu will probably be back and available but other than that I don’t think we’ll have anyone back until after the international break.”
Celtic really need to win by at least 2-0 to keep alive realistic hopes of qualifying for the last 32 of the Europa League.
Midway through the group it looks like RB Salzburg are capable of taking full points with Rosenborg struggling to earn anything.
If that scenario continues it be between Celtic and RB Leipzig for second place with the head-to-head results the first decider if the two clubs finish up level on points.
