Steven Gerrard continued to show his complete lack of man-management by his treatment of Conor Goldson.

On Thursday night after scoring two own goals in the 4-3 defeat from Spartak Moscow the defender heard his manager compare his performance to that of an u-12 side.

In January 2017 Goldson underwent heart surgery which saved his life as well as giving him a chance to continue his career with Brighton.

The former Shrewsbury starlet barely played another match for Brighton but that didn’t deter Sevco from splashing out £2.5m in the summer to join up with the Gerrard revolution.

After making his 25th appearance in Russia Goldson was missing from the Sevco team sheet against Motherwell, rather than say he was rested Gerrard decided to go big on detail.

He’s got a chest issue at the moment,” the Sevco boss told the Daily Record. “It’s not a chest infection but he’s getting severe pain around his chest.

It’s not linked to a previous issue he’s had when he was at his previous club. It’s an illness that he’s had for a week or two, so he should be fine for Livingston.

He played with it on Thursday night but it got worse. He tried it yesterday in training and today he called in to say it’s not possible to play.”

With the player calling off yesterday it looks like more trouble could be brewing at Ibrox.
