Roger Mitchell wasn’t for back-tracking after his personal attack on Leigh Griffiths.
From his Italian base the former Chief Executive of the SPL launched a series of tweets about the character of Griffiths which suggests that he follow follows the most poisonous of message boards.
On Wednesday lunchtime Brendan Rodgers announced that Griffiths would be taking time off from football to deal with personal issues. No details were given about those issues prompting a feeding frenzy from the gullible and ill informed.
There are 2 schools of thought. “If you don’t have anything good to say keep quiet” opposed to “all it takes to evil to prosper is for good men to say nothing”. Each person makes his choice. I’ve tried to be the latter. I’ll be watching closely in coming days. This is your test.

It seems that experience has altered Michell’s approach after keeping quiet about the token contracts registered by the old Rangers club for Tore Andre Flo and Ronald de Boer.
Bringing in stars from Chelsea and Barcelona doesn’t come cheaply but despite registering contracts at around half the amounts Celtic were paying to Chris Sutton and Neil Lennon.
Had Mitchell asked questions he might have uncovered the Discount Option Scheme set up by Campbell Ogilvie that put millions ‘tax free’ into offshore accounts.
The old club was forced to admit a tax liability of £2.8m on those two players, unfortunately for HMRC that bill was still unpaid when the old Ibrox club went into liquidation.
In another recent tweet Mitchell praised the work done by Martin Bain at Sunderland.
Interesting what people say. Martin seems to find a fair bit of support. I too thought he came across well. Usual insulting comments from the professional critics, especially in the north, who’ve never had to take a business decision of weight in their lives. https://t.co/pE9kTJg936
