Scott Brown has taken the 10-year challenge by posting a picture of himself as a boy-band wanna-be and compared himself with David Platt.

The full head of hair is rarely seen these days with the Celtic skipper preferring the lean and mean look as he goes out to battle on the pitch.

A decade ago Brown was starting to make his mark on a Celtic side led by Gordon Strachan attempting to win their fourth successive SPL title. That bid ran out of steam with Strachan stepping down at the end of the season kicking off a turbulent period in Celtic’s history.

Tony Mowbray handed the captaincy to Brown with Neil Lennon, Ronny Deila and Brendan Rodgers recognising the value of having the midfielder relaying their orders on the pitch.

Having led from the front for seven title wins Brown’s place is now under threat with Callum McGregor and Ryan Christie impressing in the midfield holding role while Olivier Ntcham is also challenging for that role in the side.

Brown recently rejected an offer to join Western Melbourne of the A-League but has still to sign a new Celtic contract with his current deal expiring in June.
