Efe Ambrose has left Hibs.
The defender moved to Easter Road on a permanent basis in July 2017 but had a release clause inserted in his contract. Tellingly the statement from Hibs mentioned Ambrose securing a British passport
Blackburn tried to sign Ambrose from Celtic in January 2017 but were unable to secure a work permit but with a passport secured he is expected to move to an English Championship side.
????| Hibernian FC can confirm the departure of Efe Ambrose after his move to invoke a contractual clause that allows him to leave this month.
????The club made every effort to keep Efe but respect his decision and wish him well.

Neil Lennon signed the Nigerian internationalist in 2012 with his partnership with Kelvin Wilson helping Celtic into the last 16 of the Champions League.
After helping Nigeria to lift the African Nations Cup he flew straight home into a nightmare Champions League performance against Juventus which he never fully recovered from.
Ambrose went on to start 143 matches for Celtic before moving east to be reunited with Neil Lennon where he made 69 appearances, scoring three goals.
