Celtic have been linked with a £2m move for Marian Shved.

The Karpaty striker has scored eight goals in 17 matches in the Ukranian League ad is also believed to be interesting Dinamo Kiev. Shved spent a couple of seasons with Seville’s reserve side but returned to Karpaty where he started his career.

Brendan Rodgers is looking to have three strikers to choose from which will open up the possibility of playing with a front two. Odsonne Edouard will soon be joined by Vakoun Issouf Bayo leaving one space open with uncertainty over the future of Leigh Griffiths.

Shved certainly fits the profile of recent Celtic signings in terms of age and price although prior to Brendan Rodgers there was a long list of failed strikers hoping to become the next Gary Hooper.

Mo Bangura and Teemu Pukki were the most high profile failures alongside the more high profile Carlton Cole and Colin Kazim Richards.

With ten days remaining in the transfer window Celtic supporters are looking for some experienced, recognisable names to hit the ground running and take the club forward to an eighth title and beyond.
