Leigh Griffiths is back on the treadmill towards a return to football.
Tonight the striker has posted a brief video on Instagram showing himself wearing Celtic training gear working out at a gym.
On December 12 Brendan Rodgers announced that Griffiths would be taking time out of football with no details given about the reason for his absence.
That sparked a frenzy on social media with both the Daily Record and The Sun speculating about the nature of the issues the striker was dealing with.
Griffiths has turned to social media a couple of times to respond to speculation but today’s video is the first to suggest that he is working towards a return to action.
His absence has left Celtic short of attacking options with Mikey Johnston and Oliver Burke played at centre forward in the last two fixtures.
Odsonne Edouard has resumed full training and is expected to be in contention for a place against Hamilton Accies on Saturday.
