Brendan Rodgers has revealed that Scott Bain is in the Celtic team for a ‘little run’.

The former Dundee keeper made his first SPFL appearance of the season in last night’s win over St Mirren, keeping a clean sheet as Celtic moved one point clear at the top of the table.

Bain has played in all of Celtic’s domestic cup ties this season and can now look forward to an extended run to prove himself.

I’ve got two very good goalkeepers and I’m giving Scott a little run because I know what Craig can do,” Rodgers told The Sun“He also really helps the speed of our game because he gets it out quickly. I’ve got very good goalkeepers and whichever one I play will always contribute well.”

Bain enjoyed a quiet night, dealing comfortably with a couple of St Mirren attacks and looking composed with the ball at his feet.

A year ago he joined Hibs to escape from Neil McCann then moved to Celtic at the end of the month in a transfer triangle.

Bain was thrown into his debut at short notice in the March Glasgow derby, playing a big role in Celtic’s 3-2 win which destroyed the challenge from Graeme Murty’s side.
