Celtic fans weren’t slow to respond to the call from BBC Scotland to discuss the prospects of Brendan Rodgers leaving for Leicester City.
From the moment that Claude Puel was sacked the media spotlight has been firmly on the Celtic boss who was instantly installed as the bookies favourite to take over.
The book on replacement managers varies wildly with a couple of speculative bets likely to send the odds tumbling but until a new man is announced by Leicester then Rodgers is certain to be linked.
Before Celtic beat Motherwell the BBC asked Rodgers pre-match to comment on the speculation, when they tried again after the 4-1 victory the interview was cut short.
Tonight Sportsound focused on the issue of the Irishman possibly leaving for England with barely a case being made for the prospect of Rodgers seeing out the remaining 28 months of his contract.
Rodgers is expected to be on media duties tomorrow to preview Celtic’s visit to Tynecastle but there’s likely to be another topic certain to be discussed.
These days managers never shoot down speculation linking them elsewhere, it’s always good to be in demand and can help negotiations with their current club in terms of salary or budget.
Leicester may well appoint someone else but it won’t be long before the speculation resumes that Rodgers is in in demand elsewhere, that sort of thing never happened when Ronny Deila was in charge of Celtic!

treble, treble would be incredible but a total bonus. 10 in a row is the be all and end all. He has a young squad with some highly rated Academy players now breaking through. Europe has been poor. Still lots of room to improve and develop for him and this Celtic squad.
