The Scott Bain story gets more and more incredible.
After last night’s heroics in the Mestalla there were a few reminders of exactly where the Celtic career had emerged from. It’s not quite the Andy Robertson story of Queens Park to the Champions League Final in six years but it is certainly inspirational.
Former Aberdeen keeper Jamie Langfield remembered his former boot boy, after being released from Pittodrie he was picked up by Paul Hartley who gave him his chance at Alloa Athletic, a chance he took firmly with both hands.
Over the last 13 months he has gone from surplus to requirements with Neil McCann at Dundee to the stand out keeper in Scotland with an amazing run of 11 domestic clean sheets to his name.
Since making his debut at Ibrox last March he has taken every challenge in his stride, eventually taking over as Celtic’s first choice last month.
In recent weeks his distribution has been highlighted, last night it was more traditional goalkeeping skills that were on show with Brendan Rodgers having one vital position secured for a few years to come.

Scott Bain was once my boot boy, now performing heroics on European stage. Unbelievable work stevie Woods has done with him and a great goalkeeping department they have at Celtic. ????
