Chris Sutton has backed Steve Clarke’s decision to highlight the sectarian problem at Ibrox.

In his media conference following his side’s Scottish Cup defeat the Kilmarnock boss claimed that Ibrox fans were living in the dark ages after he was subjected to repeated abuse.

Chants about Clarke were heard during the game with similar individual calls likely from the enclosure behind the visitors technical area.

It seems that the joy of having a club from Ibrox competing for honours is to achieved at any price with Kilmarnock suffering from two highly controversial decisions in the first 20 minutes.

Eamonn Brophy was denied what appeared to be a clear penalty in the second minute while Killie keeper Daniel Bachmann was sent off after 25 minutes after Glen Kamara fell dramatically to the ground.

With the SFA appearing to be in turmoil over refereeing issues it’s unlikely that any investigation or action will be taken about the crowd chants at Ibrox or the decisions of referee Alan Muir.
