Alfredo Morelos has told a Colombian radio station that he’ll be joining a top European club in the summer!
The Sevco striker signed two improved contracts last year against a background of alleged interest from elsewhere which never resulted in any offers or bids being made.
Morelos has picked up four red cards this season and avoided the same number again thanks to generous refereeing decisions from Scottish referees.
While the Ibrox club have tried to manufacture interest in the 22-year-old until he scores goals in European competition or against Celtic it is highly unlikely that they will receive any offers above £5m for their top asset.
According to a report in The Sun Morelos told Colombian listeners: “There are many teams interested in me and a lot of them have watched me play.
“Most likely my transfer will be this summer. With the amount of goals I have scored, I know it has been noticed by European clubs.
“I have always said I would like to play in the English Premier League but my initial aim is to play in the Copa America this summer, which has always been a dream of mine. My mentality is that I have to keep working hard to get a place in the squad.”
Morelos has picked up one international cap, in a friendly when all of the first choice players were rested.
With Jemain Defoe picking up a reported £60,000/week while on loan from Bournemouth selling Morelos would go a long way towards funding the wages of the former England striker next season.
